Villa Women Grab 9th
Salisbury, MD- The Villa Julie women's cross country team finished in ninth place amongst the 14 competing teams at the Tidewater Fall Classic, hosted by Salisbury at Winter Place Park on Saturday. The women's 6k team title was awarded to Towson University. Salisbury was the top finisher amongst Division III teams taking second place.
Lindsay Koepper (White Hall, MD / N. Harford) was Villa's top finisher completing the 5,290-meter circuit in a time of 24:16. That effort was enough for 36th place in a field of 128 runners. She was followed by Kristina Bolard (Sykesville, MD / Century) in 52nd place with a mark of 25:13.
While the men did not field a complete team, the Mustangs did field a competitor. Joseph Spurrier (Mt. Airy, MD / Glenelg) finished in 49th place amongst 92 runners. He completed the 8,000-meter course in 28:15.
Villa's runners return to action next Saturday at Goucher.
