Gash, Mustangs Take First at Season-Opening Stampede

STEVENSON, Md. - Senior Langston Gash took first-place overall in the season-opening Mustang Stampede, held at the Greenspring Campus course, with a personal-best 4k (2.48 miles) time of 12:37.97. The host Mustangs, who had five runners place in the top six, finished atop the team standings with 18 points.

Junior Patrick Watson placed second with a personal-best 4k time of 12:52.56, while junior Nikita Kulick took fourth with a time of 13:18.01. 

Junior Iddriss Iddriss took the fifth spot with a 13:24.49. Senior Brett Olin completed the team score for Stevenson with a sixth-place finish and a time of 13:30.48.

Sophomore Aditya Singh and senior Jackson Morrow clocked times of 13:33.89 and 13:36.46 to take seventh and eighth. Senior Sam Mercoli rounded out the top 10 with a 13:42.48.

The Mustangs compete next when they host the Shannon Henretty Invitational on Saturday, September 8 at 11:30 am.
