Gash Wins Shannon Henretty Invitational, Mustangs Take Second

STEVENSON, MD. - Senior Langston Gash won his second race in as many weeks after taking first place at the Shannon Henretty Invitational, held at the Greenspring Campus course, with an 8k time of 26:21.38. Gash, who was named the USTFCCCA Division III Male Athlete of the Week for his win in the season-opening Mustang Stampede, won the race by almost seven and a half seconds over second-place Scot Pourshalchi of Hopkins. 

The Mustangs took second place overall in the team standings with a score of 58. 

Junior Patrick Watson finished 10th overall with a time of 27:02.17, while junior Nikita Kulick placed 17th with a time of 27:34.98.

Senior Jackson Morrow and sophomore Aditya Singh finished in 22nd and 23rd place with times 27:49.27 and 27:50.77, respectively.

Junior Iddriss Iddriss completed the 8k course with a solid time of 28:12.48. Senior Brett Olin clocked a 28:18.85 for Stevenson. 

Hopkins took the team title with a total score of 20.

The Mustangs will have a few weeks off from competition before taking part in the Don Cathcart Invitational, hosted by Salisbury, on Saturday, September 29 at 9:45 am.
