Mustangs Win Both Games of Double Header
Myrtle Beach, SC.- The Mustangs took on Russell Sage and Sweet Briar in a double header yesterday. They won the first game 5-0 and the second 5-4 to improve their record to 4-4.
In the first game of the day versus Russell Sage, freshman Sarah Moelter (Timonium, MD/ Dulaney) pitched her first career college shut out for the Mustangs in their huge 5-0 win. Moelter gave up only five hits and had four strikeouts in the win. Jackie Wineke (Glen Burnie, MD / Glen Burnie) went 2 for 3. Jessie O'Neil (Howard County, MD / Howard) went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs. Sam Rice (Howard County, MD / Howard) went 1 for 3 and Heather Taylor (Snow Hill, MD / Snow Hill) went 2 for 3 with a double, a homerun and 2 RBIs. Lindsey Mueller (Fallston, MD / Fallston) went 1 for 3 with an RBI.
In their second game, the Mustangs beat the SweetBriar Vixens in a close 5-4 game. Jessie O'Neil gave up 9 hits, 4 runs, and struck out 2. Jackie Wineke went 2 for 4, while Jessie O'Neil went 1 for 2 with a huge 3 run homerun. Sam Rice went 2 for 3 with a double, a homerun, and 2 RBIs. Liz Penniman (Dayton, MD / Glenelg) went 2 for 3 and Sarah Moelter went 1 for 3.
