Mustangs Triumph Over SUNY-Purchase

Owings Mills, MD.-

The Mustangs swept Purchase 13-2 in the first game and 14-2 in the second game.

Game 1: Villa had 6 hits to their 13 hits. Jessie O'Neill pitched for five innings and threw nine strikeouts, four hits, three walks, and one earned run. Offensively O'Neill went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored; Lindsey Mueller went 3 for 4 with one homerun, three runs scored, and four RBIs; Heather Taylor went 1 for 3 wtih one homerun, three runs scored, and two RBIs; Samantha Rice went 1 for 2 with one run scored and an RBI.

Game 2: The Mustangs had 11 hits to their 7 hits. Sarah Moelter pitched 5 innings and threw six strikeouts, seven hits, one walk, and two earned runs. Offensively O'Neill went 1 for 4 with a triple and an RBI; Jackie Dorsey went 3 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI; Lz Penniman went 2 for 3 with a triple; Heather Taylor went 1 for 1 with one homerun, three runs scored, and an RBI; Rice went 1 for 2 with two runs scored and two RBIs; Jackie Wineke went 2 for 2 with one run scored and one RBI; Moelter went 1 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

After the wins today, the Mustangs record pushes to 10-12. They return to their home field on Tuesday, April 11, against PSU-Berks at 3:00 pm.
