Mustangs Sweep Philadelphia Bible
Glen Burnie, MD.- The Mustangs swept Philadelphia Bible during today's NEAC softball action. Both wins climb the Mustang record to 12-14 overall and 6-4 in the NEAC. Before today's game, Coach Meyerson honored the team's only senior, Trish Spinoso. She has been a valuable asset to the team and her leadership on and off the field will be missed.
Game 1: The Mustangs won 7-5 with 17 hits. Jessie
O'Neill pitched three strikeouts and earned the win
for the day. Offensively, Spinoso went 3 for
4 and scored one run; Jacquelyn Dorsey went 3 for
5 with two RBIs and one run scored; O'Neill went 3
for 4 with one RBI and one run scored; Lindsey
Mueller went 3 for 4 and had three RBIs; Christina
Kiel went 2 for 4, scored two runs and had a double;
Samantha Rice went 1 for 2 and scored two runs;
Jackie Wineke went 1 for 2, had two sac flys, and
a RBI.
Game 2: Villa won 10-4 with 15 hits. Offensive leaders
were Dorsey who went 2 for 4 and scored
two runs; O'Neill went 2 for 4 with one run
scored and one RBI; Liz Penniman went 2 for 3 with
two runs scored and one RBI; Mueller went 2 for 3
with one RBI and one run scored; Kiel went 2 for 3
with one run scored and one RBI; Rice went 2 for
3; Wineke went 2 for 3 with two RBIs;
Heather Taylor had a solo homerun.
Sarah Moelter earned the win with three strikeouts
and O'Neill got the save with five strikeouts.
The Mustangs return to the field on Wednesday, April 18, at Chestnut Hill for a double-header at 3:30 pm.
