Mustangs Swept in Doubleheader

Towson, MD.-

  The Mustangs fall in both ends of a doubleheader versus Keuka College 3-1 and 11-0.  VJC played this game at home due to a snowstorm in upstate New York.  In game one the Mustangs were out hit 9-5.  Sarah Moelter pitched 7 innings for the 'Stangs as she struck out 4, had no walks, gave up 8 hits, and 3 runs (1 earned).  VJC offensive leaders were Liz Penniman who went 2/3 with a double and scored VJC's lone run, and Lindsey Mueller went 1/3 with a double and an RBI.

In game 2 the Mustangs were out hit 14-3 as they fell 11-0.  Jessie O'Neill pitched 5 and 1/3 for the Mustangs striking out 3, walking 3, gving up 9 hits, and five runs (all earned).   O'Neill pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 6 runs off 5 hits. O'Neill, Penniman, and Jackie Wineke each earned a hit to lead the 'Stangs offensively.

The losses take the Mustangs to 8-6 in the NEAC and 14-16 overall.  Villa is at home on Sunday as they host Cazenovia College at Towson University for a 1pm start.
