Mustangs Split With Cazenovia

Towson, MD.-

The Mustangs hosted Cazenovia for a double-header this afternoon.  They lost to Cazenovia 3-1 in the first game and beat them 5-2, in seven innings, in the second game of the day.   
 
GAME 1:  Villa had five hits to Cazenovia's three.  Sarah Moelter pitched seven innings.  She had five strikeouts, two walks, three hits, three runs, and one earned run.  Offensively, Liz Penniman went 1 for 4 with one RBI; Lindsey Mueller went 1 for 4; Jessie O'Neill went 1 for 3; Trish Spinoso went 1 for 1; and Sarah Moelter went 1 for 3 and scored one run. 

GAME 2:  Villa had 12 hits to Caz's seven.  Spinoso pitched three innings with two strikeouts, two walks, five hits, two runs, and no earned runs.  O'Neill pitched the remaining four innings with three strikeouts, two walks, two hits, and no earned runs.  Offensively, Penniman went 2 for 4 with one RBI and one run scored; O'Neill went 2 for 3 with one RBI; Moelter went 1 for 2 with one double and one run scored; Mueller went 1 for 3 with one double, one run scored, and a RBI; Jackie Wineke went 2 for 3 with one run scored; Kiel went 1 for 3; and Jackie Dorsey went 3 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI. 

After the split, Villa's record goes to 15-17 overall and 9-7 in the NEAC.  The Mustangs return to the field on Thursday, April 26, at 3:00 pm to play against Salisbury.
