Mustangs Sweep Baptist Bible

Clarks Summit, PA.-

The Mustangs beat their best record by one and swept Baptist Bible in this afternoon's conference action.  Villa had most of their action early in the games and went on to beat the Defenders 3-0 in the first game and 12-2 in the second.

GAME 1:  The Mustangs had a first inning rally and scored all three runs to win the game 3-0.  Sara Moelter pitched a seven inning shutout.  She threw five hits, six strikeouts, and did not allow any runs or earned runs.  Offensively, Jackie Dorsey went 3 for 4 and scored one run; Lindsey Mueller went 1 for 3 and scored one run; and Trish Spinoso went 1 for 3.

GAME 2: Villa outhit the Defenders 22-6 in the 12-2 win.  Jessie O'Neill pitched seven innings with six hits, two runs, one earned run, and nine strikeouts.  Dorsey went 5 for 6, scored one run, and had two RBIs; O'Neill went 2 for 5 and had three RBIs; Moelter went 2 for 5, scored one run, and had one RBI; Christina Kiel went 2 for 4 and scored two runs; and Jackie Wineke went 3 for 5, scored two runs, and had two RBIs.

The Mustangs improve their record to 17-19 overall and 11-7 in the NEAC.  They finish their roadtrip at Keystone tomorrow, April 29, with a noon double-header.
