NEAC Conference Tournament Results

Clarks Summit , PA - The North Eastern Athletic Conference began their 2007 NEAC Softball Tournament Friday at Baptist Bible and Keystone College . The double elimination tournament began with six teams, and at the end of the day three teams remain to play Saturday at Baptist Bible College for the Championship.

In tournament game one, Cazenovia defeated Villa Julie College 7-4 giving the Mustangs their first loss of the day. The Wildcats got a solo home run from Kate Lincoln and a three RBI double from JoAnna Knox to grab a five run third inning. The Mustangs countered when Lindsey Mueller (Fallston , MD ) hit a two run home run in the fifth to make it 6-4. However the Wildcats added one in the seventh and hung on for the win.

Baptist Bible then hosted Villa Julie in an elimination game and defeated the Mustangs 10-1. After Baptist Bible took a 1-0 lead in the third inning, Lindsey Mueller tied the game with a sacrifice fly to right in the bottom of the inning. The Defenders however scored five in the fourth and added four in the seventh to win the game 10-1. Liz Tomasetti went 2/3 in the game and batted in four RBI in the win. The loss ends the Mustangs season with an overall record of 19-21.
