Softball Falls Two at York
York, PA- The Mustangs dropped two games to York College this afternoon, 4-5 and 0-5, in CAC action. The Mustangs gave up only 18 hits on the day, but their batting wasn't enough to beat the Spartans.
In the first game, Sarah Moelter threw 82 pitches in 6 innings and gave up only 10 hits, 2 walks, 5 runs- only 1 was earned, and struck out one batter. Offensively, Jackie Wineke went 2 for 3; Jessica Bandzwolek went 2 for 4 with 3 assists and one defensive put-out; Jessie O'Neill went 2 for 3 with a leadoff solo homer in the top of the 2nd for the first run of the game, an RBI, as well as 5 put-outs; Lindsey Mueller went 1 for 4 with a two-run homerun in the top of the 5th and 2 RBIs; Sam Rice went 1 for 3; and Liz Penniman went 3 for 4.
In the second game of the day, Julianne Roper pitched 79 pitches in 6 innings and gave up 8 hits allowing only 1 walk with two strikeouts. Lindsey Muller went 1 for 2 with 1 assist and 2 put-outs and Sam Rice went 1 for 3 and had 3 put-outs.
The Mustangs rest up for double-headers all weekend against York on Saturday the 29th and Salisbury on Sunday the 30th.
