Softball Wins Final CAC Game

Owings Mills, MD - The Villa Julie College Softball team completed their regular season CAC schedule by winning both games against Gallaudet University. The Mustangs recorded shut-outs in both games, winning 7-0 and 13-0.

The first game was another classic display of pitching from Sarah Moelter. Moelter was once again on top form as she recorded a no hitter into the 6th inning (77 pitches). Gallaudet ruined the opportunity for Moelter's second no hitter in consecutive days as she would end up with 2 hits, 2 walks, struck out 8 and no runs scored for the shutout. On offense, Jackie Wineke went 2 for 3 (3 RBIs), Jackie Dorsey 1 for 2 (2 RBI), Jessica Bandzwolek 3 for 3 (2 doubles and 2 run scored), Jessie O'Neill 1 for 2  (2 runs scored), Sam Rice 1 for 3  (1 Stolen base) and Kelly Dorsey 1 for 1 (1 RBI)

The second game was to be a replica of the first, with excellent pitching and a potent offense leading the Mustangs to the 13-0 win after 5 innings. This was Julianne Roper's first shutout, pitching all 5 innings, only giving up 1 hit, no walks, striking out 4, and no runs scored. The bats came alive for the Stang's again with Lindsey Mueller going 2 for 2 (1 Double, 3 Runs scored-2 sliding into home!, and 1 RBI), Jackie Dorsey 1 for 3 (1 Stolen base, 1 scored run and 1 RBI), Jessica Bandzwolek 2 for 3 (1 Double, 2 RBI's, 2 runs scored - 3 assists), Jessie O'Neill 2 for 3 (2 Doubles, 4 RBI and 1 Runs scored), Emily Roper 1 for 2, Laura Bedgar 2 for 3 (1 Run scored), Lorin McKee 1 for 1 (2 RBI), Elizabeth Penniman 2 for 3 (1 Double, 1 RBI and 2 Runs scored), Michelle January 1 for 1 (1 RBI and 1 Run scored) Jayme Kekich 1 for 1 (1 Run scored) and Jackie Wineke 0 for 1 (1 RBI).
