Penniman Announced to All-Region Team

Owings Mills, MD - The Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region teams have been announced and Villa Julie College has their 1st honoree. Senior Elizabeth Penniman was awarded first team All-Region in the Atlantic Region for her position of designated player.

Penniman gained first-team all-region honors as the designated player for Villa Julie, which finished 14-16 overall and advanced to the semifinal round of the 2008 CAC double-elimination championship tournament. Penniman was one of six CAC players that made the regional team and one of three that was awarded first team honors. Penniman was an instrumental leader for the Mustangs and made Villa Julie History by hitting her 100th career RBI in a win over Penn State-Berks. Liz also capped off an impressive season by being named in the All-Conference team for the CAC.

Penniman has a chance of scooping another award , with the first-team players from each of the eight regions being considered for the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced later this month.
