ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Stevenson softball team swept the Commonwealth Conference's weekly honors on Monday as freshman Tiffany Kahl (Glen Burnie, Md./Seton Keough) was named Player of the Week while sophomore Briana Pichalski (Port Reading, N.J./Woodbridge) was named Pitcher of the Week.
Kahl and Pichalski are the first two selections for Stevenson this season and the first conference players of the week selections since Pichalski was named CAC Pitcher of the Week back on Apr. 30, 2012.
Kahl hit .435 in six games last week as Stevenson went 6-0. She led the team 10 hits, 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored. In a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader sweep at Elizabethtown, she hit .600 with six hits, six runs and seven RBIs as well as her first career home, a three-run shot. For the week, she hit .615, going 8-for-13, with runners in scoring position while totaling four, two-out RBIs.
Pichalski allowed just one earned run over 14.0 innings last week while striking out 12, including a career-high eight in a 10-0 Commonwealth Conference victory at Elizabethtown. She went 2-0 in two starts, allowing just one earned run and totaling 11 strikeouts over 12.0 innings pitched.
