BALTIMORE, Md. - Stevenson softball freshman Stephanie Shupe (Lakewood, Wash./Lakes) registered a hit in both games as the Mustangs fell to Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth doubleheader Thursday at Seton Keough High School.
The Mustangs (10-8, 2-4 MAC) suffered their first loss since March 17, snapping a six-game win streak as they fell to the Dutchmen 1-0 in both games.
Shupe picked up Stevenson's only hit in game one, going 1-for-1, hitting her first career triple in the bottom of the fifth before going 1-for-3 in game two.
Lebanon Valley's Jorey Aumiller hit a two-out single to centerfield in game one to score Emily Johnson on the games only run in the top of the fourth.
The Dutchmen (13-3, 4-0 MAC) scored on an unearned run in the top of the first in game two as Stevenson committed two errors.
Over the final two innings, the Mustangs totaled three hits but were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position. Freshman Kristen Mueller (Bel Air, Md./Harford Tech) hit a one-out triple in the bottom of the seventh but was stranded after Lebanon Valley's Sam Derr forced a strikeout and a popup to end the game.
