This is Stefanie Meyerson's fourth year as Head Coach at
Villa Julie College. As the Assistant Coach for four years,
she was a part of the true birthing of this softball program. Last
season she led the Mustangs to 16 wins defeating 14 conference
teams. The team finished 4th in the NEAC Champtionship and
had six players on the North Eastern Athletic Conference
All-Conference teams. The NEAC named freshman catcherLindsey
Mueller to the All-Conference first team, and VJC placed three
outfielders on the second team: senior Bre Wallizer, senior Alicia
Barnard and sophomore
Jacqueline Dorsey. Sophomore Liz Penniman and
freshman Jessica O'Neill were named Honorable Mention.
Stefanie graduated from University of Charleston, a Division II college in West Virginia in '98. During her softball career, she worked/played hard enough to earn herself a WVIAC All-Tournament Team Award and two years tuition paid for through a softball scholarship. Her motivation and competitive nature will successfully guide this talented team to reach their highest potential.

Laura Horstkamp Softball
Laura Horstkamp, Assistant Coach, is entering her 2nd season with the Mustangs Softball Team. Head Coach, Stefanie Meyerson found her on the diamond as they were competing against each other in the semi-finals of their slow-pitch league. Laura has been playing softball for 25 years and is a true fan of the game.
In practice, Laura works with the team to develop their mental toughness and physical fitness in an effort perform at their best. On game day, you will find her in the dugout working with the team as they move back and forth from offense to defense making certain they are staying mentally tough.
In 1990, Laura graduated from Franklin High School in Reisterstown, MD lettering in Softball and earning All County DH for her on base average of .788. Laura is a graduate of the University of Delaware where she earned her BA in Philosophy. Currently, Laura works full time as the Office Manager for OfficeMax in Elkridge, MD. She and her husband Tommy reside in Howard County.

Mike Mueller Softball
This will be Mike Mueller's 2nd year as an Assistant Coach in the Villa Julie Softball Program. Coach Mike is a 1978 graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in Industrial Arts Education. Mike coached 7 years of Girls Select softball and 3 years of Women's Unlimited Fastpitch. His select team made 2 appearances in the NSA World Series finishing 5th and 17th in the nation.
Mike is the Hitting Coach for the Mustangs and had a great impact on the 2007 team as the top VJC players increased their batting averages 100 pts, with the team finishing in the top 60 teams at the Division III level. Last year, Coach Mike helped produce two top players in batting average, with Lindsey Mueller finishing 5th in the nation and teammate Liz Penniman finished 32nd.
Mike is currently the project manager for Innovative Energy Systems, specializing in backup power for residential and commercial properties.
