Mustangs finish season as NEAC Runner-Up

Keuka Park, NY .- Villa Julie's Women's Basketball Team competed today in the NEAC Finals against Keuka College and earned the runner-up spot after a 44-67 loss.
The Keuka Storm's defense was at the top of their game and held back the Mustangs' scoring. Villa shot just 25% (6-for-24) in the first half and 27% (16-for-60) for the game. In the first half, the Mustangs held close to the Storm thanks to 9-for-10 from the free throw line. However, the Storm held a seven-point (29-22) halftime lead after doubling the Mustangs shooting percentage (50%). Keuka didn't slow down in the second half as they poured in 38 more points, shooting 46% (13-for-28) from the floor.
Villa Julie was led by junior forward Tanisha Foster (Baltimore, MD/St. Frances) who finished with 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Foster, a second team All-NEAC selection, went 8-for-22 from the floor while also swatting 3 shots. Senior Cara Hill (Fort Washington, MD/Oxon Hill), one of five first team All-NEAC members, was the Mustangs next leading scorer as she ended with 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists.
The Mustangs sealed the season at 19-9, 13-3 in the conference.
