Women's Golf Eighth After Opening Round of General's Invitational

LEXINGTON, VA. - The Stevenson women's golf team is eighth overall with a combined score of 349 (+61) after the opening round of the two-day General's Invitational, held at the Lexington Country Club. 

Senior Morgan Wirtz is currently tied for 17th after shooting an opening round score of 83 (+11). 

Freshman Laura Rentz, who was named Middle Atlantic Conference Golfer of the Week on Monday, opened up the tournament with an 87. Rentz is currently 33rd overall.

Sophomore Julia Kline is tied for 34th overall after shooting an 88 to open the tournament. 

Freshman Elise Glauser carded a 91 to round out the team score for the Mustangs, while Emma VanDeCar shot a 98 on the day.

Johnna Beehner and Lauren Ceyrolles of Methodist, and Christina Herbert of Bridgewater are currently tied for first at one-over par. Methodist has a four-stroke lead over Washington and Lee heading into the second and final round of play.

The second round takes place on Tuesday, October 3.
