Mustangs Pound Wesley 18-7
The Mustangs dominated Wesley in every statistical
categorie to win 18-7 under the lights in a non-conference
win. This game will be a CAC tilt next year as Wesley will
participate in women's lacrosse in 2008. Villa took the lead
early thanks to 5 goals by Mustang Mandi
Carr. Carr led all scorers with 6
goals. Villa Julie led 13-3 at half time. VJ then
cruised to a win in the second half.
In the first half the Mustangs dominated the Wolverines winning 12
out of 15 faceoffs, and outshooting them 21-12. VJ also only
turned the ball over once copmared to 6 for Wesley.
The Mustangs spread the scoring out, with six different players
posting goals. Cat Connelly posted an
iimpressive 5 goal game, while Meghan Smith
tallied 2 goals and 2 assists. Jamie Jones
also posted two goals and two assists for the game.
Lauren Zegowitz, Nikki Miller and
Brittany Conelly each added a goal to the Mustang
cause. Julie Olson chipped in with 3 assists
while Katie Rodriguez and Lauren
Zegowitz garnered one assist each.
Villa is back in action on Friday as they host Marymount at noon
for their final regular season game.
