Mustangs Fall to Mary Washington in the Quarterfinals of CAC Tournament

Fredericksburg, VA.-The Mustangs traveled to CAC-foe Mary Washington to play in the first round of the CAC tournament this afternoon. After a hard battle, Villa fell 21-8 to the Eagles.
Villa was first on the board when Kristyna Hnizda
hit the cage at 26:10. The Eagles made it all square at 25:55
and they went on to score nine goals in a row during the first
period. The Mustangs scored four more times before the half
to make the score, Eagles 11 and Mustangs 5.
During the second period, the Mustangs and Eagles exchanged early
goals but the Eagles took control. Again, the Eagles scored
nine goals in a row to go up 21-6 over the Mustangs.
Villa scored two more times before the end of the game to make the
final score 21-8. The Eagles go on to play York in the
semi-finals on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
Scoring for the Mustangs was Meghan Smith with six
goals; Jamie Jones and Julie
Olson each with two goals; and Kristyna
Hnizda and Katie Rodriguez each with one
goal. The Mustangs end their season with a 6-10 overall
record and a 2-5 record in the CAC.
