IWLCA Names Laura Lagana As Award Recipient

Owings Mills, MD.- The IWLCA has announced that 17 student-athletes have earned significant awards from the organization for the 2007 season, including Meghan Murphy from Notre Dame and Laura Lagana from Villa Julie College, the IWLCA Community Awareness Award recipients. Three other student-athletes, Lindsay Pieper from Virginia Tech, Lindsay Goldman from C. W. Post, and Megan Barbieri from Greensboro, were named the IWLCA Scholar-Athletes for their respective divisions, while 12 players earned Player of the Year honors for their respective positions.

Lagana was the Vice President of the Best Buddies club at Villa Julie, serving as both a liaison between the team and the local organization as well as having a "Best Buddy" herself. She also served as a volunteer at an adult day care center and worked at a continuing care center.
