Womens Lax Wins Fifth In A Row

Owings Mills, MD- The Mustangs (10-4) hosted
Neumann (4-7) in today’s match. Villa took the win 19-4,
while overpowering the Knights with 54 shots to ten and grabbing 43
groundballs to Neumann’s 25.
Villa conceded the first two goals to Neumann at the 28:42 and
25:53 marks. The Mustangs put themselves on the board 22 seconds
later with a successful shot by Megan Weiss
assisted by Lisa Baker. Villa tallied five more
goals before Neumann scored again. After a final goal by Villa, the
half came to a close with the Mustangs leading 7-3.
The Mustangs maintained their dominance of the field in the second
half. They immediately went on a six goal run. Neumann interrupted
their streak with one goal at 16:07 before the Mustangs went on
another six goal run for a final score of 19-4.
Lauren Zegowitz tallied four goals and two assists
while Jamie Jones added four goals and one assist
to lead the Mustangs for the match. Also contributing to the win
were Kristyna Hnizda with three goals, Cat
Connelly with two goals and three assists, Lisa
Baker with two goals, Megan Weiss with
one goal and one assist, and Brittany Connelly,
Julie Olson, and Mandi Carr with
one goal each.
The Mustangs return to the field on April 16 when they host
Susquehanna at 4:30 p.m.
