Zegowitz, Kauffman Named to IWLCA All-Region Team

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - For the second-straight season, Stevenson University women's lacrosse senior Tricia Kauffman (Cockeysville/Dulaney) and junior Lauren Zegowitz (Gaithersburg/Damascus) have been named to the IWLCA Division III All-Chespeake Region Team. Zegowitz was a first team selection while Kauffman was named to the second team.
Zegowitz received her second consecutive first team selection after earning All-CAC Second Team honors for the second-straight season. She started all 17 games for the second year in-a-row and finished second on the team with 44 goals, 12 assists, 56 points and 44 draw controls. She also had 21 ground balls.
Zegowitz scored her 100th career goal in a 15-11 win over McDaniel at home on April 9 and in three seasons, has totaled 110 goals, 45 assists and 155 points.
Kauffman was named to the second team after receiving first team honors a year ago. She was second on the team with 13 caused turnovers and ranked third in ground balls and draw controls. She also added an assist in the team's 18-5 win over Lynchburg on April 4.
In just two seasons with the team, Kauffman totaled a school record 44 caused turnovers, including a school-record 31 last season.
Both Zegowitz and Kauffman are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America Teams. The organizations will honor the All-Americans at the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American Banquet on June 13 at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.
