TOWSON, Md. - Stevenson women's lacrosse junior Leah Warner (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) tied her career-high with eight points to pace the Mustangs past local rival Goucher 17-6 Wednesday at Beldon Field.
The Mustangs (8-1) had seven different multi-goal scorers as they won a school record eight straight games.
The Gophers (6-4) scored the games first goal on a free-position shot from team leading scorer Erin Reifsnyder. But the Mustangs responded with three straight goals, including back-to-back goals from Warner.
Sophomore Kathryn Merrick (Bel Air, Md./Forest Hill) scored two first half goals and picked up a game-high five ground balls.
Stevenson scored the games final five goals as they ended the game on an 8-2 run while outscoring Goucher 10-3 in the second half.
Junior Marissa Meiklejohn (Severn, Md./Old Mill) registered five points on two goals and a career-high three assists.
Warner tallied a season-high five assists one shy of her career-high set on April 18, 2012 in a 16-4 victory over Hood.
Sophomore Leanne Bittner (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) recorded eight saves while her counterpart Ashley Shaner had 11.
The Gophers were paced by Reifsnyeder with four goals.
The Mustangs outshot Goucher 37-18 and held an 23-14 advantage in ground balls.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday when they host Alvernia in a Commonwealth contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
