Villa Julie 7, Cazenovia 0

Cazenovia, NY- Four first half goals powered Villa Julie (2-1, 1-0) in a 7-0 drubbing of Cazenovia (0-3, 0-1) in the NEAC women's soccer opener for both teams. Kim Moxley (Westminster , Md. / Westminster ) scored the first and fourth of the half to bookend tallies by Tonia Cristino (Lancaster , Pa. / Hempfield) and Jackie Hoffman (Baltimore , Md. / Catholic). Cristino assisted on Moxley's first.

Hoffman also netted a pair adding one of the three second-half insurance goals.

Villa Julie out-shot its host by 22-3 margin, and held a possession advantage that manifested a 7-1 edge in corner kicks. Despite having surrendered seven goals, Cazenovia's keeper, Alicia Holl (Feeding Hills, Ma. / Agawam ) stared down the onslaught recording ten saves in the losing effort.  Casey Brown (Barnesville, Md. / Poolesville) and Kristina Lopez (Clear Spring , Md. / Clear Spring) combined for the shutout with each Mustang keeper working a half. Brown turned away the only shot she faced, while Lopez was perfect against the pair she saw.

With the win, Villa Julie improves to 2-1 on the season, while Cazenovia remains winless at 0-3. Villa returns to the pitch tomorrow at Keuka.
