Mustangs Host Conference Power Baptist Bible College
Owings Mills, MD.- Allison Bowen's goal in the 48th minute was all of the offense Baptist Bible (4-3, 3-0 NEAC) needed as the Defenders shutout Villa Julie (3-3, 2-1 NEAC) 1-0 in a NEAC women's soccer meeting on Saturday.
Bowen headed home a cross sent into the box from the left hand
side of the net by Baptist Bible's Liz Bole at 47:38. The
Defenders' Holly Walton stifled a pair of shots on a Villa Julie
scramble two minutes in. That marked the first of her nine saves in
the shutout. Villa's Casey Brown (Barnesville, MD / Poolesville),
turned away a pair shots in taking the loss.
Villa out-shot their guests by an 18-7 margin and held a 5-2
advantage in corner kicks to no avail. The loss drops Villa Julie
to 3-3 (2-1) on the season, while Baptist Bible improves its mark
to 4-3 and remains unblemished in Conference play at 3-0. Villa
Julie returns to action on Thursday when it hosts McDaniel College.
That game, rescheduled from September 2, will be played at 4:00
p.m. in Owings Mills.
