Owings Mills, MD.- Jackie Hoffman's (Baltimore / Catholic) goal early in the 49th minute broke a scoreless deadlock and stood up as the game-winner as Villa Julie knocked off North East Athletic Conference opponent, Purchase State , 3-0 on Saturday.

The win leaves Villa with an 11-3 record, and more importantly, a 8-1 record in the NEAC, leaving the Mustangs in control of their own destiny in terms of hosting the conference championship tournament. Purchase fell to 7-4 (6-2 NEAC).

Rose Phelan (Carney, MD / Loch Raven) and Nikki Miller (Glen Burnie , MD / Northeast) paired up for an insurance goal in the 62nd minute. Three minutes later Kelly Townley (Baltimore / John Carroll) made it 3-0.

Casey Brown (Barnesville, MD / Pooolesville) worked 73:46 of the shutout before yielding her net to Kristina Lopez (Clear Spring , MD / Clear Spring). Brown made four stops in her time, while Lopez turned away one Purchase shot.

Villa peppered Purchase's Emily Buse with 20 shots. She turned away seven of Villa's advances.

The Mustangs return to the pitch on Wednesday at Catholic University .
