Eyler Earns Second CAC Player of the Week Award

YORK, Pa. - On Monday, Stevenson University women's soccer freshman Stephanie Eyler (Thurmont/Catoctin) was named CAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. It also marked the third such honor for the Mustangs this season.

Eyler was named conference co-player of the week on September 9 while freshman Brittany Ross (Millersville/Severna Park) also earned the honor on September 22.

In sharing her first honor with Salisbury senior Gena Goodson, Eyler totaled 14 points on six goals and two assists in two games while scoring the game-winner in both. She was also named ECAC Division III South Offensive Player of the Week for her performance.

Last week, Eyler scored six goals in two games as Stevenson went 2-0 with conference wins over Gallaudet and Marymount (Va.), totaling a hat trick in each.

With her third goal against Marymount, Eyler scored her 21st goal of the season, setting a new CAC single-season record. Through 17 games this year, she now has 21 goals and five assists for a total of 47 points, on shy of the all-time conference mark.

Stevenson, who assured itself a spot in the CAC Women's Soccer Championship with wins over Gallaudet and Marymount, travel to York (Pa.) on Tuesday. Game time is at 4:00 p.m. The Mustangs currently hold a half-game lead over the Spartans for third place in the CAC.
