Eyler CAC Rookie of the Year, Humphries Second Team

YORK, Pa. - After scoring a CAC-record 21 goals this season, Stevenson University women's soccer freshman Stephanie Eyler (Thurmont/Catoctin) was named CAC Rookie of the Year on Wednesday while also earning All-CAC First Team honors. Sophomore Allison Humphries (Bel Air/John Carroll) was named to the second team.

Lauren Carrier and Brianne Weaver of St. Mary's (Md.) were named the CAC Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively, headlining seven Seahawks who earned all-conference selections.

In two seasons in the CAC, the Mustangs have had three players earn all-conference honors after senior Tonia Cristino (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) was named All-CAC Second Team a yar ago.

A two-time CAC Player of the Week selection this year on October 20 and September 8, Eyler has totaled 21 goals and 47 points this season. While her 21 goals is a new CAC record, she is just two points shy of setting a new conference single-season mark as well. She was also named ECAC Offensive Player of the Week on September 9.

Eyler has scored six game-winning goals this year in addition to posting six multi-goal games, including three hat tricks, highlighted by a career-high four goals and nine points against Notre Dame (Md.) on September 2.

Humphries has totaled 13 points this season and is tied with Eyler for the team lead in assists with five. Her four goals this year tied her season total from a year ago when she also had one assist and nine points. She is second on the team in games played and started with 19 and had the game-winning goal at Gallaudet on October 19.

Eyler and Humphries have led Stevenson to its third ECAC Division III South Women's Soccer Championship where the team travels to Dickinson Wednesday afternoon. Game time is at 3:00 p.m.
