Women's Soccer Selected to Third ECAC Championship

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Fresh off its third conference championship appearance in the last five years, the Stevenson women's soccer team received its fifth postseason appearance in the program's 16-year history as the Mustangs were one of eight teams selected to the ECAC Division III South Championship on Monday.
The selection marks the second-straight season that Stevenson has been selected to the ECAC tournament and the third overall. In addition to last year, the team was also selected in 1999.
The second-seeded Mustangs will host seventh-seed Moravian at Caves Athletics Complex on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
In Wednesday's other first round contests, top-seeded Penn State-Altoona will host eighth-seeded LaRoche, No. 3-seed Swarthmore welcomes sixth-seeded Centenary and fourth-seeded Penn State-Behrend hosts fifth-seeded Grove City.
The semifinals and championship games will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the highest remaining seed following Wednesday's four first round contests.
The Mustangs are 3-2 all-time in the postseason and are looking for the first win the ECAC championship after a 2-1 loss at Dickinson in the first round a year ago and a 2-1 loss to Penn State-Behrend in 1999.
Stevenson is unbeaten in its last 10-straight and in 10 out of 11 at home this season.
Moravian is 2-0 all-time against the Mustangs winning 3-0 on the road on Oct. 21, 2006 and 2-0 at home on Sept. 29, 2007.
