ANNVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson women's soccer freshman Allison Johnson (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) was named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week on Monday, becoming the second Mustang to win the award this season. She joins junior Jamie Matlock (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland) who also won the award on September 4.
Johnson allowed just one goal in two games and 135 minutes last week while totaling 11 saves.
Johnson led the Mustangs to a key, 2-1 Commonwealth Conference victory at Lebanon Valley last Tuesday by tying her career-high with nine saves against the Dutchmen who entered the game ranked at No. 10 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Poll. She also had nine saves versus Bridgewater (Va.) back on September 8.
On Saturday, Johnson made her sixth start of the season against Arcadia at home, playing the entire first half and sharing the shutout with junior Lauren Weitzman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) after the two teams battled to a scoreless draw in 110 minutes.
Stevenson looks to run its unbeaten streak to three when it travels to Widener on Wednesday for a Commonwealth Conference contest with the Pride. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
