ALNÖ, Sweden - Stevenson women's soccer alumna Stephanie Eyler '11 recently agreed to terms to play for Alnö IF, a women's professional soccer club in Sweden. The club currently plays in Division 4 Medelpad which is in the sixth tier of the Swedish women's soccer pyramid.
Eyler is the first Mustang to play professional soccer and the third from her native Frederick County, Md.
Eyler was the program's first all-region selection in 2009 when she was named to the second team and was named to the South Atlantic First Team in 2011.
The Thurmont native finished her career with a school and Capital Athletic Conference record 63 goals. She also ranks second in school history with 141 career points, appearing in 85 games with 15 game-winning goals, both school records.
Eyler earned All-CAC First Team selections all four years at Stevenson and was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team by CoSIDA after posting a 3.97 grade point average in business administration.
She graduated on May 9 with a Master's in Business and Technology Management and will arrive in Sweden this week.
