Milam Places Third in 200 IM on Day One of Diamond City Invite

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Junior Melanie Milam placed third overall out of 22 swimmers in the 200 Yard Individual Medley on day one of the Diamond City Invitational, hosted by King's (Pa.) College. Milam's time of 2:19.07 was 2.41 seconds back of Abby Keating of Wilkes, who took first overall. 

To open up the day, seniors Natalie Wasicko, Julianna Burnett, Colby Stein and Milam picked up a sixth place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a combined time of 1:47.68. 

Stein, Milam, Burnett and Wasicko would later place seventh in the 400 Medley Relay with a combined 4:15.92. 

Burnett and Stein picked up points for the Mustangs in the 50 Free with times of 26.46 (13th) and 26.64 (16th). 

The Mustangs currently sit at eighth in the team standings with 75 points. 

The second and final day of competition kicks off on Sunday, November 18 at 10:00 a.m.
