Ann Greenbaum Tabbed as New Women's Tennis Coach
Villa Julie College Director of Athletics Brett Adams announced
today the hiring of Ann Greenbaum as the head coach of VJC's
women's tennis program. Greenbaum, who is the programâ
s first female head coach, will begin her duties at Villa on
August 30th.
"I am pleased to announce Ann Greenbaum as the new head
womenâ s tennis coach at Villa Julie College,â
said Adams . â Ann has also worked as
an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences
at Villa Julie since 2006, and is committed to the Villa Julie
community, and will continue to foster the growth and development
of young women in the tennis program and the new conference, the
CAC."
Greenbaum was promoted to head coach after the spring season as an
assistant at Villa Julie. As Jeb Barberâ s lead
assistant, the Lady Mustangs competed against York College, The
College of Notre Dame, and St. Maryâ s College this
spring.
As a native of Baltimore, she has over 25 years of experience
coaching womenâ s athletics, having coached
womenâ s lacrosse at UMBC, Essex Community College,
basketball and lacrosse at the College of Notre Dame, and other
sports at several area high schools. Greenbaum has coached and
trained hundreds of youth and adults at Hillendale Country Club,
Cross Keys Tennis Club, and Lâ Hirondelle Club. She has
also played tennis for USTA, going to the National Tournament in
her division. Greenbaum attended Randolph-Macon Womanâ
s College (now Randolph College) and the University of
Maryland where she received a Masterâ s degree.
Greenbaum holds a USPTR instructor certification.
