STEVENSON, Md. – The Stevenson women's tennis team defeated conference rival Arcadia at the Greenspring Tennis Courts this afternoon in a convincing 6-3 win.
All three Mustangs' doubles pairs posted victories over their opponents. Leading the way was No. 1 senior doubles duo of Susannah Hoblitzell (Towson, Md./Towson) and Megan Heagy (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) who only conceded a mere two games in their match. Shortly behind was the junior pair of Jordan Rupard (North Beach, Md./Southern) and Rachael Sandora (Bellmawr, N.J./Wildwood) only allowing three games at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, all three Mustang victories came in three set matchups. Heagy, Rupard, and junior Katie Fersch (Mechanicsburg, Md./Chopticon) posted wins at No. 2, 3, and 5 singles, respectively.
Rupard recorded the tightest match of the afternoon taking her opponent all the way to a tiebreaker for the third set. Rupard edged her opponent by a mere three points.
The Mustangs return to action on Saturday at home where they face FDU-Florham.
