Mustangs Fall to Illinois Wesleyan in Spring Break Opener

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Stevenson women's tennis team opened up spring break with a 7-2 loss to Illinois Wesleyan. Sophomore Jenna Skove picked up her first win of the spring after overcoming a one-set deficit in No. 1 singles. Skove took the match by a 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 margin. 

The other victory for the Mustangs came from freshman Megan Waskiewicz, who won her match in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 11-9.

Earlier in the day, Waskiewicz and junior Kirstyn Davidson dropped a hard-fought match in No. 2 doubles, 8-6. Davidson would also fall in her No. 2 singles match by a 6-4, 6-2 score.

Junior Christina Endy and sophomore Nina Bretz fell in No. 2 doubles, 8-4. 

The Mustangs (1-5) take on Marietta (Ohio) in their second of three matches in Hilton Head, S.C. on Thursday, March 15.
