LANCASTER, Pa. - Sophomore Danika Ani qualified for the ECAC Indoor Championships in both the weight throw and shot put at the Coach I Open, hosted by Franklin and Marshall. Ani's toss of 12.47 meters in the shot put gave her third overall in the event. In the weight throw, Ani's throw of 14.24 meters gave her fourth overall.
Freshman Rachel Panek improved on her ECAC-qualifying time of 9.68 seconds in the 60m hurdles with a 9.64, which gave her third overall in the event. Sophomore Dyonne Hicks clocked a 9.99 in the finals to finish sixth.
In the triple jump, Hicks' hop, skip and jump of 10.18m gave her second overall.
Freshman Allison Krahe clocked a 1:03.30 in the 400m dash to take second overall in the event, while Hicks ran a 1:04.39 to take fifth. Krahe would also finish third in the 800 with a time of 2:30.85.
Hicks missed out on the 60m dash finals by just .03 seconds with a 8.34 in the preliminaries. Freshman Ryley Hinson clocked an 8.44, while freshman Shanika Royal ran a personal-best time of 8.48 in the event.
In the 200m dash, sophomore Kimberly Hammond ran a 27.84 to take seventh, while Royal clocked another personal record on the day with a 27.88 to take eighth.
Hammond would also finish fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.09m, which was just .01 meters off from qualifying for ECAC's. Panek would take seventh with a 4.81.
The Mustangs compete next at the two-day Bison Open & Multi starting on Friday, January 26 at 4:00 pm.
