Women's Indoor Track Leads Academic All-MAC With Four Selections

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Stevenson University women's indoor track and field team leads the Middle Atlantic Conference Academic All-MAC Team with a total of four selections on the 12-member team.

Selected to the team were juniors Allison Bishop, Lauren Dioses and Jess Rega and freshman Rachel Panek.

Bishop, a Biology major, earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors and took first place at the MAC Championship in the weight throw.  Her throw of 15.58 meters was good for the top toss in the Mideast Region this past winter.

Dioses, a Psychology major, was also an All-Region performer in the weight throw, with her toss of 15.17 meters ranking third in the region this season.  That mark at the MAC Championship placed her third overall.

Rega, an Applied Mathematics major, earned All-Region accolades in the shot put.  Her throw of 13.07 meters at the Diplomat open was the fourth-best effort in the region in the event this season.  She placed fourth in the shot put and fifth in the weight throw at the MAC Championship.

Panek, a Nursing major, was the MAC Indoor Rookie of the Year.  She earned MAC Second Team honors in the pentathlon, compiling 3,014 points, good for sixth in the region as she narrowly missed out on All-Region honors. She was also a member of the 4x200 relay team that was third at the conference championship.

The Stevenson women's indoor track and field team finished second at the MAC Championship, its highest-ever finish.
