Women's Track and Field Honored for Classroom Work by USTFCCCA

USTFCCCA ACADEMIC AWARDS

NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) honored three members of the Stevenson University women's track and field program as All-Academic Individuals.  In addition, the Mustangs were one of 185 women's teams honored as an All-Academic Team.

In order to be named an All-Academic Team, a program must have a cumulative team GPA of at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. 

Juniors Allison Bishop and Jess Rega and freshman Rachel Panek were honored as All-Academic Individuals.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on the official NCAA Descending Order List.

The Stevenson women's track and field program placed second at both the MAC Indoor and Outdoor Championshis, its highest-ever finishes.
