RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Rachel Panek set a new school mark in the 100m hurdles at the Fred Hardy Invite, hosted by the University of Richmond. Panek's time of 15.93 seconds gave her fourth overall in the event and shattered the previous record by a over a second. Panek's time also earned her a spot into the ECAC Outdoor Championships.
Panek also qualified for ECAC's in the 400m hurdles, where she clocked a time of 1:05.62.
Sophomore Kimberly Hammond earned a spot into ECAC's in both the 200m dash and the long jump. Hammond placed ninth in the 200 with a time of 26.48 seconds, while taking eighth in the long jump with a 4.93m leap. Hammond missed out on ECAC's in the 100m dash by just .04 seconds with a time of 13.02.
The Mustangs compete next at the two-day Messiah Multi starting on Thursday, April 5.
