Dioses Wins Hammer, Panek Third in Heptathlon After Four Events at ECAC's

BALTIMORE, MD. - Junior Lauren Dioses won the hammer throw with a season-best toss of 42.66 meters at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships, hosted by Johns Hopkins. Junior Jess Rega tossed a 38.35 in the event to finish eighth.  Heading into the second and final day of the meet, the Mustangs are tied for eighth with 11 points. Hopkins leads with 55.5, while Misericordia sits in second place with 39.5. 

Freshman Rachel Panek is currently in third place after four events of the heptathlon with 2656 points. Panek finished second in the high jump and matched her personal best with a height of 1.54m. Panek took third in the shot put (9.00m), 200m dash (26.75) and 100m hurdles (15.37).

Sophomore Kimberly Hammond qualified for Thursday's 100m dash finals with a time of 12.79. 

The final day of competiton takes place on Thursday, May 17.
