Panek Sets School Record in 400 Hurdles, Ani Takes Third in Shot Put at Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Sophomore Rachel Panek took second place in the 400m hurdles with a school-record time of 1:04.22 at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet. Panek currently has the fourth-best time in the Mideast region heading into this week's AARTFC Championship.

Sophomore Emily Gates rank a school-record 18:21.63 in the 5K.

Junior Danika Ani placed third overall in the shot put with a top throw of 12.27m. Ani is currently third in the region with a top performance of 13.12m (Danny Curran Invite).

Junior Kimberly Hammond took second in the long jump with a top leap of 5.41 meters. Hammond still has the fourth-best distance in the region (5.52m), which took place at the MAC Outdoor Championships.

The Mustangs compete next at the AARTFC Outdoor Championships, hosted by SUNY Cortland, starting on Wednesday, May 15.
