Villa Travels to Philadelphia to Compete in Tri-Match

Philadelphia, PA-

The Mustangs competed with Philadelphia Biblical University and Montclair State University in a tri-match. They went 2-0 for the weekend, extending their record to 8-2.

In the first match versus PBU, Villa took the match in four games with line scores of 30-27, 30-25, 28-30, and 38-36. Alana Eller (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) led the Mustangs with 15 kills, 11 digs, and two aces. Julie Olson (Spofford, NH/Keene) tallied 23 digs, while Brittany Umetin (Havre de Grace, MD/Mt. Zion) tallied 19 digs.

In the second match versus Montclair, Villa conquered Montclair in four games, 30-18, 20-30, 30-28, 30-11. Umetin contributed 41 set assists, while Jessica Smiley (Baltimore, MD/Kenwood) added five aces. Eller and Olson tallied 16 digs and 13 digs respectively.

The Mustangs return to home court on September 18 as they take on York College at 7 p.m.
