UMW Volleyball Tops Villa Julie, 3-1, in CAC Action

Fredericksburg, VA- The University of Mary Washington volleyball team overcame a slow start to defeat Villa Julie College, 3-1, on Thursday night in Capital Athletic Conference volleyball action at Goolrick Gymnasium. The Eagles improve to 11-7 overall and 1-3 in CAC play, while the Mustangs fall to 12-4 and 1-3. Game scores were 23-30, 30-23, 30-20, 30-24.

Villa Julie was led by Alana Eller's (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) 12 kills and 12 digs, with Marisa Bender (Hagerstown, MD/Hagerstown) adding 10 kills. Brittany Umetin (Havre de Grace, MD/ Mt. Zion) had 37 assists and 10 digs, and libero Julie Olson (Keene, NH/ Spofford) had 15 digs for the Mustangs.

Villa will head to Washington College on Saturday, September 29, to play a tri-match with the Shoremen and Catholic University.
