David Trumbo Hired To Lead Mustangs in CAC
Stevenson, MD.- David Trumbo will be starting
his first season in the Fall of 2007 as the Head Coach of Villa
Julie Women's Volleyball. He looks to improve their 20-11
record from last year with heavy recruitment and training of the
team. Prior to joining the Mustangs, Trumbo developed,
staffed, and directed the Liberty High Volleyball Program for 11
years. While there, his accomplishments included being named
Metro Coach of the Year in 2003; five time Carroll County Coach of
the Year 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004; eight consecutive county
championships; six consecutive regional championships; six
consecutive appearances in the state tournament; two state
championships; established a metro record of 49 matches won and
ranked #1 in the Metro poll at the conclusion of the 2003 and
2004 seasons; developed seven Carroll County Players of the Year
and one Metro Player of the Year; and an overall record of
167-31.
Trumbo conceived, planned, directed, and staffed the "Spike It!"
volleyball clinic for five years and the Liberty Volleyball camp
for 10 years. He also has various communication skills.
Trumbo worked for WTTR as a Radio Color Analyst for McDaniel
College Basketball and Carroll County High School Basketball Game
of the Week. He was a Color Analyst at Adelphia Cable
Television for Carroll County High School Basketball and Lacrosse
Game of the week and prepares and edits segments of a quarterly
publication which reaches 50,00 subscribers.
Trumbo received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from
Towson University and a Master of Science in Recreation
Administration and Supervision from Morgan State University.
While in college he participated in intercollegiate soccer and
baseball. In addition, Trumbo is married with three
children and is a Sunday School Teacher.
