Christine Isenberg Named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Stevenson women's volleyball junior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) was selected as the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week on Monday, marking the third time this season and second in as many weeks that a Mustang has won the award.
The honor is the first player of the week award for Isenberg who was named the 2011 CAC Rookie of the Year.
Isenberg led the team in kills, attempts, hitting percentage and digs last week as Stevenson when a perfect 5-0 and swept all five games in straight sets. The Mustangs won their third tournament title this seasn by capturing the Goucher Invitational and Isenberg was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Isenberg totaled 41 kills, an average of 4.27 kills per set, while posting a .543 hitting percentage. She also had 31 digs, three service aces and three block assists. She totaled 12 kills and nine digs in a Commonwealth Conference victory versus Arcadia on Wednesday before adding 12 kills and 10 digs against Lynchburg on Saturday.
Sophomore Megan Miller (Middletown, Del./St. Georges Tech) was named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week last Monday while junior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) also received the honor on September 4.
Stevenson returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Alvernia for a Commonwealth Conference contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.
