ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball junior Christine Isenberg (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) totaled 22 kills and 22 digs, while senior Avery Gabbard (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) totaled 21 kills and 17 digs in extending the Mustangs winning streak to 17 with sweeps of Lycoming and host St. Mary's (Md.) on the final day of the Seahawk Invitational Saturday.
Stevenson (33-2) defeated the Warriors 25-13, 25-15, 25-8 and the Seahawks 25-22, 25-16, 25-17.
Along with the 17-game winning streak, the Mustangs also extend their consecutive sets won streak to 44, having not conceded a set since September 29 against No. 19 Eastern.
Isenberg totaled 11 kills, seven digs and two block assists in the opener against Lycoming, while Gabbard registered 10 kills and four digs.
Sophomore libero Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) had a game-high 16 digs along with two service aces.
The Warriors (21-11) were led by Bethany Richardson with six kills and three digs.
Against St. Mary's (Md.), Isenberg amassed 11 kills, 15 digs, two aces and a block assist.
Gabbard added 13 digs, while Perillo had a game-high 18 digs.
Junior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) combined for 66 assists for the day, 139 for the invitational, averaging 11.58 per set. Gieselman is second in Division III in assists per set.
The Seahawks (20-8) were led by Shelby Mullennix with six kills and four total blocks.
Stevenson will host the semifinals of the Commonwealth Conference Volleyball Championship against either Widener or Lycoming on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
