Gieselman, Hudson Honored by ECAC, Mustangs Receive Three All-Star Selections

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Stevenson women's volleyball junior Jessica Gieselman (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) was selected as the 2012 ECAC Division III South Player of the Year while freshman Imani Hudson (Burke, Va./Thomas Edison) was named as the ECAC South Rookie of the Year.

Gieselman was also named to the ECAC Division III South All-Star Team along with sophomore Samantha Perillo (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends).

The honors cap off an amazing year for Gieselman who was selected as an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, an AVCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team selection and the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year and first team honoree.

Off the court, Gieselman was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team for boasting a 3.39 grade point average in elementary education.

Gieselman helped lead Stevenson to the Commonwealth Conference championship and the team's second-straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship. She totaled a school record 1,397 assists, ranking third in the nation in assists per set. She also had 118 kills, 231 digs, 36 service aces and 39 total blocks.

Hudson was also honored by the Commonwealth Conference as the Rookie of the Year and was named second team all-conference. She finished third on the team with 259 kills and posted a .291 hitting percentage while also ranking third with 54 total blocks.

Perillo bursted onto the scene in 2012, earning AVCA Honorable Mention All-American and All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team honors after being named to the All-Commonwealth Conference First Team. She totaled 600 digs as the team's libero this season and was ranked fourth in the Commonwealth Conference. She also added 45 assists and 43 service aces.
