Mustangs Advance to Third-Straight NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Following its second-consecutive first-place finish in the Commonwealth Conference Championship, the Stevenson women's volleyball team has been selected to its third-straight NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.

The Mustangs (34-2), who were ranked at No. 22 in last week's AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 Poll, are the fourth-seed in their respective region and will play fifth-seeded Salisbury (29-5) on Friday, November 15 at Juniata's 1,350 seat Memorial Gymnasium beginning at 5:30 p.m..

Juniata (30-4) is the top-seed and will play eighth-seeded Galladuet (23-13) at 8:00 p.m.. Eastern (29-4) will be the second-seed and face seventh-seeded Johns Hopkins (14-12) beginning at 12:30. Third-seeded Christopher Newport (24-12) and sixth-seeded Cabrini (29-4) will play the second game of the day 3:00 p.m..

Stevenson, who went undefeated in its second-straight season in the Commonwealth Conference, is one win shy of the school record for wins in a season which was set a year ago by the 2012 team who advanced to the second round in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.

The Mustangs have faced four of this weekend's opponents in Cabrini, Chirstopher Newport, Eastern, Gallaudet and Johns Hopkins. The team went 4-2 against those opponents, with two victories over the Johns Hopkins, one against Cabrini and one versus Gallaudet.

Ticket prices are $6 for adults, $3 for students with a valid I.D., senior citizens and children under 10. Childredn under two years of age are free.
