OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson women's volleyball sophomore Imani Hudson is one of 248 student-athletes from 106 colleges and universities who will be participating in the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs February 21-23.
Hudson, an All-Commonwealth Conference First Team selection this season and 2012 Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year, led the conference with a school record 379 kills. The Mustangs won their second-straight Commonwealth Conference championship and advance to their third consecutive NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship while winning a school record 37 matches.
In two seasons, Hudson has totaled 638 kills while posting a .262 hitting percentage and averaging 2.75 kills per set.
Tryouts are for spots on U.S. Women's National Team and/or U.S. Collegiate National Teams program (formerly U.S. Women's Senior A2 Teams).
Three-time Olympic gold medalist and U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer Karch Kiraly and the U.S. Women's National Team staff will lead the tryouts. Selected athletes will be notified by early March and USA Volleyball will announce the selections by the end of March once all roster spots are accepted and confirmed.
